Ribbed Tie Coat

Description: I'm in love with this collar. I was inspired to design this by something Tonia Barry designed for Classic Elite—hers had a big stockinette stitch collar with a big-ol pom-pom tie around the neck. Really cute, but I wanted something a little more tailored to my tastes.

I'm really happy that this came out the way I wanted it to. There is 1 button about 3" up the collar, that makes it really hug my neck. It's warm and cozy, and I'm amazed at how fast I made it. Only 2 weeks!

I love this sweater so much, I wear it every day throughout the cool seasons (just ask my coworkers). It's better than turning the heat up.

Yarn used in photo: Classic Elite's Beatrice (100% merino wool)

Suggested yarn weight:   MEDIUM

Yarn amounts: 1070 (1190, 1320, 1450, 1510, 1640) yards

Difficulty level:  INTERMEDIATE

Sizes: To fit bust 33½ (38½, 41, 45½, 48½, 53)"

Gauge: 15 sts and 20 rows = 4" in 5 x 2 Rib Stretched with larger needles

Needles used: US#9/5.5mm DPNs, US#10/6mm
